OUR GOAL:is to give to the Baroque Music a prestige and an audience capable to compete with the other musics.

AN OBSERVATION:
It is clear that, despite the talent and the good will of many musicians, we are witnessing in recent years a decline in the audience for classical music, not only in Japan but around the world. Baroque music is following this same trend.

The causes are complex, to be sure, yet we are determnined to reverse this unfortunate trend.

LISTENING HABITS:
These have changed considerably. To go to a concert requires an unquestionable effort, especially since one can listen to music everywhere, at home (CD or Internet), in a car, using a walkman or even a telephone.

DISCOVERING MUSIC:
Developing the public's taste in music was once the prerogative of radio, TV and disk retailers, yet these opportunities are gradually disappearing in favor of platforms unknown 10 years ago: ITunes is merely the most striking example of Internet technology. The hunger for visual sensations is growing and video clips are now required for all gold discs.

THE MODEL OF SOCIETY

20 years ago, it was more chic to go to the classical concert than to go to see the Beatles. Now, some people are very proud to have gone through the ritual of the masses of pop, widely televised.

THE ATTRACTION OF INSTRUMENTS FOR THE YOUNG:

Electronic instruments are inexpensive and make it possible to have fun with friends at a lower cost.

THE FINANCIAL MODELS:

To program, produce and diffuse classical music is becoming increasingly risky, due to the lack of public, but also because of a certain stagnation in the repertory and the difficulties associated with reviving forgotten composers. As a consequence, this reduced production leads even to remarkable interpreters not being noticed by the producers.

ONE POSSIBLE ATTITUDE:

For the impassioned musicians of Baroque music, who would like to share this passion with the public, while living of their art, the sphere of activities narrows considerably
To continue the elitism
Some consider themselves as an elite whose talent should be reserved for an elite and want no change. We must wish them good luck.

THE ACTIONS TO EXPAND THE AUDIENCE:

One group of musicians, violin makers and amateur enthusiasts have decided not to resign themselves. They propose the introduction of activities that should, within a few years, reverse this downward spiral. This requires using the communications technology of the 21st century, whose content broadens the capacity of simple musical expression (e.g. videos).
This task is not within the range of a single musician. Thus, this core of founders wanted to create an associative structure that would unite interpreters, their audience and other music professionals, and contribute to the diffusion of the music they so love. They will thereby be contributing to the realization of a task that will benefit everyone.
The ultimate goal is to transform the musical universe in such a way that baroque music will become a major genre, both as regards the size of the audience, as well as its quality, by employing the distribution methods now available in the 21st century.

Developing a new image involves research and constant questioning in order to stay alive and thrive despite the competition.

Acting as soloist or in group, musicians have in common several wishes.

The Baroque music lovers will be grateful when musicians take care of them, informing and speaking about their passion.

It is impossible to ignore the powerful impact of Internet in order to contact an audience capable to support the music.

It will be necessary to unite the energies of many people in order to succeed in realizing this revival of Baroque Music, yet we are convinced that it is possible, and are dedicated to making it happen!
